During my childhood, I was mainly fascinated by climbing and diving. However, growing up on the island of Gotland, which is flat and surrounded by water, diving took up most of my time. This also led to doing military service as a combat swimmer in the Swedish navy and after that, working as a professional diver for a few years.

My desire for climbing was always there and after several very tough years with serious illnesses in my little family, I came to the conclusion that there is only one person to realize your dreams and that’s you. Growing old and bitterly wishing that you did something else with your life was not an option.
Inspired by a lecture by Swedish adventurer Göran Kropp, I decided that I would one day stand on the top of Mount Everest, my dream since childhood. That was five years ago. After 5 years of training and preparation, I have lost 30 kilos and grappled with the highest peaks of the Nordic countries, Europe and South America.
I have now left my fairly secure and carefree life as an employee and am now self-employed in the field of adventure and photography.

Now the ultimate goal is within my grasp! In May 2010, I’ll stand on the highest point in the world, where I’ll leave a time capsule. Anyone who wishes to leave a message inside this is more than welcome to do so.
