During my childhood, I was mainly fascinated by climbing and diving. However, growing up on the island of Gotland, which is flat and surrounded by water, diving took up most of my time. This also led to doing military service as a combat swimmer in the Swedish navy and after that, working as a professional diver for a few years.

SPOT is pleased to sponsor Sam Stuthridge , a Major in the British Army and currently serving in Germany. Sam Stuthride is planning to sea kayak together with Colin Appleby, a former Royal Marine, from Njimegen (Holland), along the Waal River to Rotterdam, along the coast of Holland, Belguim and France before crossing the channel at Calais/Dover and finally making our way up the Thames estuary to finish at the Tower of London. All proceeds will go to Help for Heroes www.helpforheroes.org.uk.
